Cilantro and Coriander

Cilantro is a cool weather herb that grows well in PNW gardens. Quick to sprout and harvest, succession plantings of cilantro is the trick to keeping it in harvest. It’s prevalence is found in Mexican, Thai, and Indian cooking while its bolting version coriander and the seeds are found in Chinese and Indian dishes, too. The coriander flowers are popular with yogurt sides, and on fish and salads. The tender greens are popular garnishes and sauce base with chicken and especially beef mains. Fresh cilantro is a necessary street taco topper, and Argentinian chimichurri can be a sauce competition awardee at your annual BBQ.
